When the February forecast is predicting temperatures almost reaching 70 degrees, you move up an already scheduled engagement session to take advantage of the gorgeous weather! Because Kelsey & Mitch live in the Chicago-area, we met halfway at Matthiessen State Park just a few miles south of Starved Rock. I had never been to Matthiessen before but I had seen pictures of the beautiful canyon complete with waterfalls—as you can imagine, this was a pretty exciting getaway for a new momma like myself! Kelsey & Mitch were such great company to explore alongside. It is crazy to think these high school sweethearts have been together for nine years—longer than I have been with Ryan, let alone known him. They truly are each other’s past, present & future. I think that is what makes their love so special.
