Tuesday night is the best night of the week.

Since we first started dating, Ryan and I have blocked out our Tuesday evenings for date night. I always look forward to spending quality, uninterrupted time with Ryan. No phones, no distractions, just the two of us. But I must confess…

I broke the rules. 

While we were waiting for our check to arrive, I habitually refreshed my email after doing the usual mindless Instagram scroll through. In my defense, I believe Ryan was either doing the same or watching some sporting event on a TV near our table. Glancing at the emails that flooded in, I noticed something—”Congratulations!” How could I just ignore that?! The email was from our account executive at The Knot letting me know we had been selected for The Knot’s Best of Weddings Award for 2016 in the Central Illinois market! I was only able to make it through the first few sentences before handing the phone over to Ryan to read the rest out loud.

We are extremely honored, excited, and humbled to share this news! The award will be “officially official” starting January 1, but I couldn’t wait any longer to tell all of you. Our excitement for 2016 is through the roof! We serve the most amazing couples and we can’t wait for all that this new year has in store. 

As for my date night “rule breaking”, exceptions need to be made from time-to-time!
